Established in 1906 (Meiji 39), Satsu-gen boasts a history of more than 100 years. The art of colored Kinkaroude and gold-painted techniques, passed down seamlessly from the first generation, has received high acclaim. The third generation, Yoshida Minori, has even been recognized as a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (often referred to as a "Living National Treasure") for his "Yu-ri Kin-sai" technique.
