Link in Japan is an online store based in Tokyo, Japan, and we do not have any physical stores. We collect our products from all over Japan from different regions and ship them to you from our warehouse in Saitama Pref., Japan.
We do not charge sales tax for international shipments. However, shipments from Japan may be subject to additional taxes and handling fees imposed by the customs authorities and mail carrier of your country and region. Such costs are the responsibility of the customer.These costs include the sales tax in the country of receipt (applied to the total value of the order), duties on the cost of products (around 6% for the European Union), and any handling fees applied by the shipping provider. FedEx usually send an invoice a few days after delivery. We understand that customs fees are a concern for some customers. We hope that you are reassured by the fact that, when buying at our store, you are really ordering direct from Japan-getting authentic and original Japanese items that are not easily found anywhere else.The same applies to customs duties when considering our products are considered gifts for friends and family.If you are giving a gift, we recommend that you inform the recipient of the customs duties in advance, or set yourself up as the recipient, and then send the gift to the recipient.

Most products are shipped by Fedex from Japan within 5 business days of order placement. Once shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information. Please note that shipping and delivery may be delayed during busy periods such as the year-end and New Year holidays and depending on the product.
Yes, we do ship internationally, but due to carrier and legal restrictions, we are unable to ship to some countries. We cannot support countries where you cannot select a shipping destination on the store page.
We accept returns within 30 days after you receive the products. Once you sign the receiving receipt, the date will be recorded in our system. If 30 days have passed, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you any refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your items must be unused and in the same condition that you received them. In case of damage/defect to the delivered items:Please contact our customer support with a detailed photo of the defective item within 48 hours of receiving the item. Once we confirm the picture, we will send a replacement as soon as possible. Shipping costs will be covered by us in this case. We will ship it as a free replacement, so you won't have to pay import duties again.Please note that we may refund your money if the same item is unfortunately out of stock or discontinued. In case you want to return the product for your own reason: In this case, such as you do not like the item or return it in your own circumstances, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost. Shipping costs vary depending on the package size and weight, so please ask each time. Also, only the cost of the item will be refunded; shipping charges, customs duties, etc., will not be refunded. Once your return has been received and inspected, we will send you an email to let you know that we have received your returned items. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If it is approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will be automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. For example, if your original payment is done with a credit/debit card, it will take up to 30 days.Refunds are for products only and shipping charges are non-refundable. Therefore, you will have to bear all the costs for shipping, both the initial delivery and the return. We also cannot refund any taxes, duties, or other charges that you may have paid when placing your order.If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account. Then contact your credit card company. It may take some time for your refund to be officially processed.

On each product page, the measurements of each item are provided. To see an example, kindly refer to the red-circled area in the image below.
Products containing gold or silver cannot be placed in the microwave or the dishwasher. Please refrain from heating all products in the microwave and then cooling them too quickly as the temperature change may cause them to crack.Also, products with thin red lines cannot be used in the dishwasher.Products other than those listed above can be used, but the color and luster may gradually deteriorate. I hope you enjoy these changes as well.
・While you can use a dishwasher, we recommend hand washing as much as possible for some items such as those made of gold and silver, which tend to peel off after a long period of use.
・You can use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to clean the dish. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth.
・Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven. Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.
・The dish may crack when there is a sudden change in temperature, such as when the plate is placed in cold water immediately after being heated in a microwave.
Pottery may seem a little bit labor intensive. However, please enjoy your favorite pottery for many years to come with a little care.
Our products and most glazed pottery contain some lead/cadmium. However, all of our products have been tested in accordance with the Japanese Food Sanitation Act and meet their elution standards.Please note that the standards differ from country to country in terms of testing methods and criteria; therefore, we cannot guarantee that the test will meet the standards in your region.
Please be assured that minor cracks are not defects. What you see on the surface of the plate is "penetration."
This is different from cracks or flaws that occur when a piece is broken. The bottom of the pottery is not cracked, will not leak liquids, and can be used normally.
Even if the pottery is made of the same clay, the same glaze, and fired in the same kiln at the same time, it may or may not have penetrations due to differences in the firing temperature at the firing position in the kiln. We hope that you will enjoy our plates and that you will consider the crack as a unique feature of the pottery.
If you feel that the crack scratches your hand, it may be defective. Please contact our customer service with a photo of the crack.
Also, items like the stains in the image below are not defective products. This is due to the iron content in the fabric and makeup (oil liquid) forming pale red spots due to the firing conditions. Please enjoy this kind of pattern.
All products are extremely delicate and should not be placed in the oven.Never use products made of gold or silver in the microwave, as sparks can smear and scratch the surface. Products that do not contain gold or silver can be used in the microwave, but please do not cool them too quickly after use as this may cause damage.
Yes, you can heat up the sake bottle in hot water. However, please do not heat products with gold or silver in the microwave, as sparks will fly.
Unfortunately, the items in a set are not intended to be sold individually, as they are made as a complete set by artisans.We appreciate your understanding.
Even if you use it carefully, the more you use it, the more the color of the food will get into it, and the appearance of the pottery will change. Although it is not possible to completely prevent food color from staining, some stains can be removed with kitchen bleach. Please choose a bleach that is compatible with your tableware and use it according to the instructions.
One step before serving the food. If you expose it to running water and allow it to absorb enough water before serving, it will be less likely to stain.
