The traditional technique of Kutani ware is called "Gosai" in Kutaniyaki, in which five colors (red, yellow, green, purple, and navy blue) are applied in a thick layer. The bold overglaze painting makes a strong impression.

Ume (Japanese apricot)
Plum trees are considered a symbol of "female strength" because they grow buds even when buried in snow and bloom beautifully in the spring. Therefore, it is also considered to be a happy pattern suitable for marriage and childbirth. It is often used as the company emblem of Tenjin-sama, and as the flower loved by Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, it is also said to be "the flower to pray for academic success.
