Product Description

Teacups are called "Yunomi" in Japanese. It is a vertical, cylindrical teacup commonly used for drinking Japanese tea by hand. Because of its large capacity, the area where the tea comes into contact with the air is small, which means that it does not get cold easily.

"Hanazume" is a technique that was introduced to Kutani during the Taisho period in Japan (1913) by the renowned craftsman Shiro Mizuta of Kanazawa.

It involves covering the surface of the vessel with various flowers and outlining their contours in gold. This design is distinctive, brightens dining tables, and represents the luxurious and splendid style of Kutani ware.

This pair of teacups, with its stately design, makes a perfect gift and will make your tea time with your loved one even more special.

How to care for Kutani ware

Care and Maintenance

Adorned with exquisite floral colors and gold paint doesn’t mean it was designed just for display.

Kutani pottery was designed and made for daily joy.

With proper care and knowledge, this timeless piece promises years of delightful use.

Hand washing is recommended whenever possible

You can use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to clean the dish. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth.

While you can use a dishwasher, we recommend hand washing as much as possible for some items such as those made of gold and silver, which tend to peel off after a long period of use.

Be careful with microwave ovens

Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven.

Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.

Rapid temperature change

Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven.

Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.
