Artist Yasushi Yamachika continues to expand his field of activity as a hot young ceramic artist. His works, which depict various animals and plants using Kutani Five Colors and create a modern and fantastic view of the world, have been highly acclaimed at many art and craft exhibitions. Taishi kiln was founded in 2011 in Nonoichi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, by Kutani ware artist Yasushi Yamachika.
Yamachika was born into the fourth generation of Seizangama potters, but opened his own kiln to express his unique world view.
The name of the kiln, "Taishi", was inspired by the words of Dr. Clark, the father of Hokkaido, "Boys, be ambitious! The name was inspired by the words of Dr. Clark, the father of Hokkaido's development, "Boys, be ambitious!
Using techniques passed down from generation to generation, the company's theme is "modern designs that make the most of tradition" and "ease of use in everyday life.
