Kutani five-color glazes are blended together like a gradation. By combining multiple glazes, unique designs and patterns are created and the rich colors and patterns can be enjoyed. Ishikawa Prefecture, where Kutani Yaki is produced, is one of Japan's leading producers of gold leaf, and it is this elegant decoration that gives Kutani Yaki its individuality and elegance.

With proper care and knowledge, this timeless piece promises years of delightful use.​

Hand washing is recommended whenever possible

You can use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to clean the dish. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth.​ 

While you can use a dishwasher, we recommend hand washing as much as possible for some items such as those made of gold and silver, which tend to peel off after a long period of use.​

Be careful with microwave ovens

Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven. 

Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.​
