Kutani Yaki Sake Set designed with gold hanazume.
"Hanazume" is a technique introduced to Kutani by Kanazawa master Shiro Mizuta during the Taisho period (1913 AD) in Japan. The surface of the vessel is covered with various flowers, the outlines of which are painted in gold using the Hanazume technique.

 

It is a beautiful way to decorate the dining table and express the splendor of Kutani Yaki. In addition, many of the "hanazume" pieces are colored in gold, a color deeply rooted in Japanese culture and associated with wishes for happiness and prosperity.

Hand washing is recommended whenever possible

You can use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to clean the dish. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth.​ 

While you can use a dishwasher, we recommend hand washing as much as possible for some items such as those made of gold and silver, which tend to peel off after a long period of use.​

Be careful with microwave ovens

Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven. 

Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.​
