The base and stem are gold and the cup is decorated with "Hanazume", a traditional Kutani ware technique, giving this wine glass a splendid appearance.

 

"Hanazume" is a technique introduced to Kutani by the famous craftsman Shiro Mizuta from Kanazawa during the Taisho era in Japan (1913). It consists of covering the surface of the vessel with various flowers and outlining their contours in gold.

 

This is a distinctive design that brightens dining tables and represents the luxurious and sumptuous style of Kutani ware.​

Hand washing is recommended whenever possible

You can use a soft sponge and a mild detergent to clean the dish. It is important to wash gently with a soft sponge or cloth.​ 

While you can use a dishwasher, we recommend hand washing as much as possible for some items such as those made of gold and silver, which tend to peel off after a long period of use.​

Be careful with microwave ovens

Do not use products made of gold or silver in the microwave or oven. 

Sparks may fly off and cause the surface to become dirty or damaged.​
