Seiko Kiln is a renowned Kutaniyaki kiln for color painting. The originally developed Japanese paints with transparency and depth of layers enhance the charm of the work.
The pattern is a diamond-shaped arrangement of cloisonne enamel connections, with a diamond-shaped flower in the center. In Japan, it is called cloisonne hobo hanabishi. Cloisonne means seven treasures in Buddhism, and it is also called cloisonne hobo tsunagi, from the endless chain of circles. It is associated with wishes for happiness, harmony, karma, and the prosperity of descendants.Hanabishi has been used since the Heian period (794-1185) for decoration of court nobles and architecture, and has the meaning of nobility and refinement.
