This plate has a very sophisticated design with alternating blue and white patterns and floral patterns applied using the traditional Kutani "Hanazume" technique. "Hanazume" is a technique introduced to Kutani by the renowned Kanazawa craftsman Shiro Mizuta during the Taisho period in Japan (1913).
